About every five years we have our reunion and we are nearing a significant jubilee. There were some of those who came five years ago and have passed away since then. It was good to see classmates from decades ago come back to their small hometowns. Although the towns have not grown significantly in population, there have been many enhancements, especially to school facilities.
We mingled at the local watering hole, went to the athletic field for a group picture, and gathered for supper at the parish hall. I enjoy gatherings like these that are focused on interaction and remembrance and not a wild party with music that hurts the ears of even the hearing impaired that socializing is merely a by-product of the occasion.
